APPLICATIONS
..

  • catalyst support and containment in reactors
  • wire mesh burners for boilers
  • separation of solid materials in screens in the various production process

ADVANTAGES
..

  • Special support meshes where the wire diameter is larger than the aperture
  • Twilled Dutch weaves provide very fine filtration qualities with a high level of stiffness
  • Woven VICO-Multiplex® cloths have no mesh openings resulting in very high filtration qualities

Specialised high quality woven wire cloths of different weaving styles including:- calendered weave, herringbone twilled weave, VICO-Multiplex® weave, plain and twilled dutch weave.

The following are just a few special wire meshes supplied by Costacurta for use in every industry.

Twilled Dutch weave, a compact cloth using larger dia wires than plain Dutch weave and capable of a 5 micron retention is ideal for filtering particularly when the weave has to have a high level of stiffness.

Herringbone twilled weave, a special kind of twilled weave used to prevent the sides of the mesh from forming corners other than 90°. In this kind of weaving the progression of the wire crossings is inverted every 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500mm, depending on the width or final use. In this way balanced forces are created without the external components that could deform the cloth.

Calendered weave, with a pre-crimped weft, whereby the weft wires are specially calendered to give the wire cloth a relatively flat surface and due to their strength are suited to wet atomization processes and cathode production in the cement electrochemical industries.

VICO-Multiplex®, cloths use groups of wires for both weft and warp, so there are no mesh openings and the appearance is similar to that of a textile fibre matt, resulting in high filtering qualities combined with a high resistance to wear and tear. These cloths are usually supplied in carbon steel and used for wire mesh burners in boilers.

All the above woven cloths can be supplied in rolls of various widths and lengths and in flat panels or cut to specific sizes. They are made from virtually all types of drawn metal including stainless steel, Nickel-Chromium alloys and pure metals.

Additional special features include:-

  • Widths up to 7000mm
  • Special materials, Hasteloy, Inconel, Incoloy, Monel, Titanium, Brass etc
  • Filtration range from 0.2 micron
  • Catalyst support meshes, aperture is smaller than the wire diameter (9.5x9.5 mesh)
  • Very fine Hollander weaves (24x110, 325x2300 mesh)
  • A very comprehensive range of styles from 2 to 500 mesh
